Year 3/4 students have begun to work on there design plan for a sculpture unit on masks.
We are taking inspiration from the works of very famous artist Pablo Picasso.
Here are some photos of the artworks inspiring this project.
The students in 5/6 have begun to work on a small project that will only last for a few weeks. They have begun Monoprinting. We bought 3 Gelli pads to experiment with and they are fantastic! The students all want a turn and have had great success with the printing on these. Students are learning about ‘health and the human body’ so are required to do a monoprint inspired by a part of the body. Here is a sneak at some of them so far as well as the work in progress.
Preps have loved getting into the groove in Performing Arts this week. Students played with the parachute to warm up and made sure they did there stretches. As a class we then used our new ribbon sticks and danced to some classical music acting out some elements of nature as well as some things from nature.
I was surprised how many words each prep class could think of that related to the work TREE. For example words like: roots, wind, fruit, leaves, autumn, fall, storm and bark. Students then had to act out these words to classical music with their ribbon sticks. They did a fantastic job and enjoyed every minute.
The year 3/4 students are beginning to finish their Still Life painting and mosaic tiling pieces.
They look fantastic. Students have been adding detail into their pieces using black fine liners to add fine lines and outline objects. They look fantastic and I can’t wait to see them when they are mounted and labelled.
Here is a sneak peak.
I love seeing which canvases are found each week and who the lucky students are. This week there were two canvases not found so they will go back into the mix for this week. I do find some tricky places to hide them some weeks.
Remember if you find a canvas remember to tell me so I can take you photo as well as a photo of the canvas!
Good luck this week!
It was exciting to be asked by the DET (The Department of Education) to have some of our students artwork to display in their South Western Victorian Region Offices.
We jumped at the chances and sent some of the year 5/6 Students En Plein Air pastel drawings.
They looked fantastic mounted on card. The students who chose to send their artwork were very proud indeed and excited to know their work will be on display in the DET Office.
